Coincidence Stack Exhaust Monitoring – Part of the WebiSmarts System

SKU BAK-0328 Category

Description

The PM-11 Coincidence System comprises of a combination of two detectors operating in unison to confirm any release of radioactive material.

The PM-11 Coincidence System comprises of a combination of two detectors operating in unison to confirm any release of radioactive material. Automating the process to confirm only true releases of radioactive material are reported!

The system has been developed to be used in all new WebiSmarts installations as well as a retrofit option to existing MediSmarts owners.

Our standard PM-11M detector is enhanced with a plastic beta detector capable of detecting the presence of positrons/beta emissions from the exhaust stack thus providing a trigger (Yes/No) to the WebiSmarts Software.

The user will continue to see the historical graph of the PM-11 readings but only the emissions confirmed by the plastic detector will be highlighted as releases. The point on the map and the Emissions Report will display the sum of these highlighted releases.

The Emissions Report will display both the graph with its highlighted areas and a table of the emissions. The report can be edited by users with a suitable access level.

The beta detector provides a unique capability of not only marking local releases but also identifying live time the primary isotopes released for PET therapy production (currently for any single isotope being released). We have introduced five end-point energy windows into the beta detector to differentiate between the different isotopes.

FEATURES

  • Automated process of releases
  • Emission Report in graph and table display
  • Developed to be used with any new WebiSmarts installation
  • 7.4 Stack & Area Monitoring – Part of the WebiSmarts System
  • Stack monitoring provides a site with the ability to determine the amount of radioactive material release from the ventilation exhaust of the facility producing the isotopes.
  • Stack monitoring provides a site with the ability to determine the amount of radioactive material release from the ventilation exhaust of the facility producing the isotopes.
  • The PM-11 detector is the main component along with a flow meter to know the volume of the air being released. Because the PM-11 detector is very sensitive, a separate higher range dose rate probe can be added in case the PM-11 unit is over ranged. In addition, there is a new option to add a beta component to the PM-11 detector to allow coincidence counting.
